The second edition of the Inside Northeast Youth Conclave, 2019, is officially underway. The event, which is being held in Guwahati city of Assam, will see many pertinent issues discussed by a panel of distinguished guests from all walks of life.

A 'lighting of the lamp' ceremony was organized, and some of the dignitaries present at the auditorium taking part in the exercise.
During his inaugural address, AP Parigi, the mentor of the group recalled the struggles and challenges faced by the organization. InsideNE began with the vision of its founder, Afrida Hussain, who gave up a cushy job in the national media, to set up an enterprise with some inexperienced, yet zealous youngsters. The organization has grown by leaps-and-bounds with the passage of time. "Afrida wanted to touch the lives of billions of the people on the Northeast", Parigi recalled, lauding the InsideNE Editor-in-Chief for her "spirit".
Calling the young team onto the stage, Mr Parigi let them bask in the glory, while the young audience applauded.

Parigi on the significance of lighting the lamp: "When we light a lamp there is a wick there is little bit of oil and we spark the light. The oil traditionally which will be moving around is a tendency to get a little negative and cynical. Wick is your work. So what happens at the end of lighting the lamp? So lighting the lamp helps us move from negativity to positivity. Thus the ego perishes"
The Conclave, which has turned into a yearly affair, will feature distingushed guests, such as Tarun Gogoi, Assam Olympic Association Lakhya Konwar, seasoned journalist Jarpum Gamlin, among many others.
