Arunachal Pradesh has set a target to recruit 2,000 local youths as soldiers during the 2018-19 fiscal to create employment opportunities, Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra said. Mishra, during an interaction with reporters at Raj Bhawan, said Army recruitments were underway for candidates of all eight north-east states. "I have set a target to recruit 2,000 local youths as home-grown soldiers during 2018-19 fiscal to create employment opportunities for state youths, yield honourable income for needy families and prevent them from drug-gun culture," he said.
Vacancies for 166 in general duty and 10 as trade's men have been announced by the Army for recruitment from Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor added.
