Itanagar, September 29, 2019:

Superintendent of Police (SP), Tawang, SS Kalsi has been transferred to Jammu & Kashmir. He is the first IPS Officer to be posted in the Valley after abrogation of Article 370.

The Union Home Ministry announced that Kalsi will be posted in Jammu & Kashmir as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Kalsi belongs to the 2010 batch of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.

According to Secretary, UT Division, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Kalsi will take charge as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau.

The Union Government had scrapped Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir, bifurcating the state into two union territories, the other being Ladakh.

Tension has gripped the Valley since the abrogation. Tension has especially increased between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir issue.

Kalsi will be the first officer from outside to be posted in the Valley.
