Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on December 30 said that APPSC paper leakage scam is a very unfortunate incident and such incidents should not be repeated in the state. The Union law minister said that the commission should take moral responsibility of the grave misconduct and those found guilty should be punished. He said that APPSC is the highest recruiting agency of Arunachal and corruption in the department cannot be tolerated. He added that the APPSC paper leak issue is a big crime orchestrated by a few selfish and greedy individuals.
“When this matter came into light, I suggested the Chief Minister to ask the Commission to take the moral responsibility of the scam. I personally called the CBI director to investigate into the matter. As of now, the investigation is underway.”, Rijiju said.
Kiren Rijiju who was in Arunachal earlier in the day flagged off two medical ambulance for Kurung Kumey and Lower Siang districts. One ambulance will be deployed at kangku circle of lower siang and one at District hospital of koloriang town headquarter of Kurung kumey district bordering Indo China border. These two ambulances were sponsored by Numaligarh Refinery Limited of Assam, one of the largest oil refinery of North East India, under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which sponsor programs for school education,health and nutrition programmes in various north Eastern states.
Speaking to media , the law minister appreciated the initiative of the Numaligarh Refinery of Assam and said that such initiative will boost the morale of the people of Arunachal.
Highlighting his development initiatives when he was Sports and Home minister of the State, Kiren Rijiju said that there is a need need to encourage a culture of sports in India, creating career opportunities within the ecosystem for players to take up roles as coaches, managers, sporting businesses and for a diverse viewership in sports. He said that as of now work on 40 different schemes of sports department are underway in the entire Arunachal Pradesh which in past 70 years of congress regime had never been done.
"Now as a Law Minister, I have sanctioned huge money for district courts which will be released before March 2023" He said.
Speaking on the Chakma people’s protest demanding the revocation of the notification issued by the Changlang district administration on November 14, cancelling the issuance of Residential Proof Certificates, Rijiju urged them to bring solution through talks peacefully.
