Arunachal CM and home minister to attend Donyi Polo Day celebration on December 31

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Home Minister Mama Natung will attend the mega celebration of Donyi Polo Day 2024 on December 31. The day is observed across the state with prayers offered to the natural gods, where Donyi represents the 'sun' and Polo represents the 'moon'.

 
For the event, the Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo Organizing Committee is gearing up and making preparations.
 

Nabam Ruja, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, urged all the believers of Donyi Polo to attend the celebration at Donyi Polo Nyedar Namlo, Kamak Nagar Pachin Colony.
 

Dr. Emi Rumi, the President of the Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), will attend the celebration as a special guest.
 

Along with Tai Tagak, former Advisor to the CM and the Chief Patron of this celebration, the event will commence with the Namlo opening, flag hoisting, and dedication of the Namlo.
 

Nyedar Namlo is a symbol of indigenous culture, serving as a prayer center and an important initiative to promote the indigenous culture and faith of Arunachal Pradesh.
 

Ruja, addressing the media, applauded the Chief Minister for accepting the invitation to attend the mass celebration, which will encourage the believers of the Donyi Polo faith.
