Arunachal CM Pema Khandu praises armed forces stationed in border areas, rules out 'cause of tension'

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu ruled out any tension regarding the border conflicts with China, praising the valiant armed forces stationed in border areas.

Speaking to India Today NE, the Arunachal Pradesh CM reassured that the dedicated personnel on the ground are safeguarding the region, providing no cause for concern or tension.

He also said that the surging conflicts, however, would be taken care of by the Ministry of External Affairs in the days to come.

Stating that the border issues were neglected during previous government regimes, CM Khandu said, “While the border issues were earlier neglected, the PM Modi-led government installed new infrastructure for the Army and the Central Armed Police Forces stationed in the area which motivates the personnel there.”

Khandu informed that Arunachal Pradesh shares its borders with 3 countries i.e., Bhutan, Tibet-China and Myanmar, of which the border area with Tibet-China is the longest.

On sportsmen from the state making headlines, CM Pema Khandu attributed the success to good infrastructure and sports facilities in the state. He stated that the government has launched many policies for the benefit of sports and sportspersons on a national and international level.

“They have been promoted well. Earlier, there was no good infrastructure for sports in the state, but in the last 5-7 years the government worked in that direction,” he said.
