Arunachal: Erosion threatens vital industrial training centre in Changlang district

The flood situation in the eastern districts of Arunachal Pradesh has shown signs of improvement recently. However, the persistent erosion caused by the Buridihing River at Kharsang in Changlang district has become a significant concern for the local community.

The Buridihing River's erosion is now threatening the only industrial training centre in Balinong, Changlang district. This crucial institution, which provides valuable vocational education, is at risk as the river continues to encroach on its grounds.

The erosion has already claimed the official residence of the institute, government property, and several hectares of land. This has left the centre's chairman and staff deeply worried about the future.

If immediate measures are not taken by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and local authorities to curb the erosion, the industrial training centre might soon be lost to history. The potential disappearance of this essential educational institution underscores the urgent need for intervention to protect the land and infrastructure from further damage.
