Arunachal Lok Sabha election results: BJP’s Pani Taram given warm welcome after winning Koloriang seat

BJP MLA from Arunachal Pradesh, Pani Taram who is representing the 21st Koloriang assembly constituency near Indo China border was accorded a warm welcome by thousands of BJP workers, at Doimukh town.

 

Pani Taram, the former bureaucrat of Fishery Department resigned from his post and won the position of MLA for the first time in 2014 on a Congress party ticket, however he lost to BJP’s Lokam Tassar in 2019. 

 

This time, Pani Taram contested on a BJP ticket from 21st Koloriang assembly constituency of Kurung Kumey district near Indo China border and emerged victorious by a huge margin of 10550 votes out of 11595 total votes. His rival candidate, former minister Kahfa Bengia of People’s Party of Arunachal secured only 1044 votes. 

 

Pani Taram interacted with media and stated that this is a victory of his people and that the development of the most backward constituency of Koloriang will be his main agenda.

 

"Proper implementation of schemes of Vibrant Village programme to develop border areas of Koloriang constituency will be my prerogative. I will not consider anyone an Opposition and work together with all the citizens of my 5 circles of Koloriang constituency and bring development in all aspects," Taram added.
