Nyato Dukam, Information & Publicity, labour Minister, praised a groundbreaking special needs school in Arunachal Pradesh during his recent visit, highlighting its crucial role in a region where awareness about disabilities remains low.
The April Blossom Foundation School, established in 2022, serves children with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other developmental conditions across the capital complex.
"These educators are providing something extraordinary - love and specialised care that transforms lives," Minister Dukam told India Today NE during his inspection of the facility. "As a welfare government, we will extend all possible support to strengthen their mission."
School chairwoman Binde Jini demonstrated how teachers continuously adapt their methods to better serve each child's unique needs. The institution has become a beacon of hope for families seeking inclusive education in the northeastern state.
"Many of our students previously faced neglect from society," revealed Mido Lollen, the foundation's advisor. "Here, they receive the attention and specialised care essential for their development."
Dukam emphasised the broader significance of the school's work: "Parents love their children unconditionally, but special needs children require additional support. This foundation's service will one day receive the recognition it deserves."
The minister urged the staff to continue their efforts, promising government backing within existing provisions. His visit marks growing official attention to special education needs in Arunachal Pradesh.
