In a reply to China' s claim over Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema khandu today inaugurated several infrastructure projects in Anjaw district bordering China and Myanmar.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Hawai town, VKV school building under BADP scheme at Hayuliang town, RCC bridges along border road and other projects were inaugurated today by CM khandu in the presence of Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, Anjaw MLA Dasanglu Pul, also the wife of former CM Late Kalikho Pul, Namsai MLA Zignu Namchoom, Dirang MLA Phurpha Tsering and others.
The Chief Minister addressed the students during the event and advised them to try to become better people each day.
"We are very particular about smooth functioning of childhood care centres across the state and we strongly feel that early education of our children should be of great quality to provide them with a strong base," said CM Khandu.
The CM said that this new JNV school at Hawai, spread over 22 acres, is going to be a game changer for the region’s students as good infrastructure will have positive impact and thanked the Union Government for giving a new boost to education infrastructure across state.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a 35-meter long steel girder RCC bridge on Hayuliang to Manchal CO HQ road under RIDF.
Anjaw district is an important part of Arunachal Pradesh with its headquarters at Hawai. It is bounded on the north by China, on the west by Lower Dibang Valley and Lohit district, on the south by Changlang district and on the east by Myanmar.
During the 1962 war, parts of Anjaw were briefly occupied by China. Being a disputed border region, Indian military has always been present in the Anjaw district. During the 2020 China–India skirmishes additional troops were deployed to the region.
The inauguration of infrastructure projects in districts like Anjaw is part of the Centre's push for boosting connectivity in the border areas near the LAC with China.
