Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, on September 24 inaugurated several new facilities at the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, in Itanagar, marking an important development for healthcare services in the region.
The chief minister inaugurated a Liquid Medical Oxygen Plant with a capacity of 10,000 liters, capable of refilling 40 cylinders at a time. Next, he inaugurated the renovated Police Assistance Booth, followed by an Emergency Care Centre and an Intensive Care Unit. Lastly, Khandu inaugurated the R.K. Mission Indoor Sports Complex, which was funded by his late cousin, MLA Jambey Tashi.
Speaking to reporters, Khandu acknowledged the role of Ramakrishna Mission hospitals and schools in the state, stating that a fund of Rs 62 crores has already been earmarked for the establishment of the 200-bedded hospital.
Furthermore, CM Khandu assured the upgradation of dilapidated quarters of doctors and nurses in the hospital compound and assured its renovation.
He said, "We have no shortage of funds for infrastructure, as our government is generating revenue. For the health sector, after COVID, we have worked thoroughly to improve infrastructure, create sanctioned posts for doctors and specialists, and acquire equipment."
Furthermore, he said, "We also have political will power to bring the state forward in every field. In 2028, the mission will celebrate Golden Jubilee.
Meanwhile, he also said that two more medical colleges will be established in Arunachal Pradesh under PpP public private partnership mode.
"After 8 to 10 years, our hydro power will generate revenue of more than 10000 crores annually and state will get 26 per cent equity power share surpassing old 12 per cent free power," he said.
