Arunachal Pradesh: Maha Ashtami festivities celebrated in Itanagar

Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar is wearing a festive look with today being the third day of Durga Puja- Maha Ashtami. 

Today people from the Hindu faith thronged puja pandals and temples in Itanagar and offered prayers on the occasion fo Maha Ashtami. People could be seen thronging temples and pandals in large numbers since morning to offer prayers and take part in the rituals. 

It is expected that by evening large crowds will be seen in festive mood in the Itanagar Capital Region and Naharlagun as well.

Meanwhile, MLA of the 13 Itanagar constituency, Techi Kaso extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Durga Puja. He said that there are a total of 17 Durga Puja pandals in Itanagar, Naharlagun and the Capital Region, and also hoped that people celebrate the occasion with aplomb. 

"Being the MLA from Itanagar, I and my family wish all the people living here, be they from any state, they hold Durga Puja, and me and my family participate in the pujas. I give my best wishes for this Durga Puja. Everyone has the right to practice their religions and festivals. And they should do it properly. There are 17 Durga Puja pandals in the Itanagar, Naharlagun, and Capital Region. I hope all pujas take place nicely in these pandals," said Techi Kaso.
