Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission implements new SOPs and technology to rebuild trust

In a bid to redeem its tarnished reputation and rejuvenate its operations, the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has embarked on a transformative journey under the leadership of its newly appointed Chairman, Prof Pradip Lingfa. The commission, marred by the infamous paper leakage scandal of 2022, has been defunct for the past two years, but is now gearing up for a fresh start with a slew of innovative measures.

Prof Pradip Lingfa, Chairman of APPSC, outlined the commission's ambitious plans to restore faith in its operations and elevate its standards to match the best in the country. Speaking about the commission's reformation, he emphasized their commitment to transparency, integrity, and technological advancement.

"Our mission is to make the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission one of the best commissions in India, irrespective of its troubled past," declared Prof Lingfa. "We have been tirelessly working to draft robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that will ensure fair and transparent examinations."

The Chairman revealed that the commission has been diligently scrutinizing a draft SOP submitted by the government, incorporating suggestions from aspirants and the general public to enhance its efficacy. He highlighted the formation of an expert committee comprising former UPSC and APCS members, along with senior officials, to fortify the SOP and ensure foolproof examination procedures.

"Technology will play a pivotal role in our revamped approach," Prof Lingfa asserted. "We are exploring IT solutions to minimize human errors and loopholes in the examination process."

Addressing the backlog of examinations and vacant positions accumulated during the commission's hiatus, Prof Lingfa assured aspirants that examinations would be conducted promptly once the SOP is finalized. He urged aspirants to remain prepared and assured them that quality would not be compromised in the recruitment process.

"We understand the trauma aspirants have endured during this period of uncertainty," Prof Lingfa empathized. "However, we are committed to conducting examinations as soon as possible, prioritizing the integrity and transparency of the process."

Acknowledging ongoing investigations into past misdeeds, the Chairman affirmed the commission's full cooperation with investigative authorities to bring perpetrators of the paper leakages to justice.

Furthermore, Prof Lingfa provided insights into the commission's forthcoming infrastructure enhancements, including the completion of a state-of-the-art office equipped with modern amenities to facilitate efficient operations.

"As we embark on this journey of revival, our commitment remains unwavering—zero error, full-proof transparency, and the relentless pursuit of excellence," Prof Lingfa said.
