Arunachal resident exposes Bihar-based scratch card scam in Papum Pare district

A vigilant resident in Arunachal Pradesh's Papum Pare district has uncovered an alleged scratch card scam operation. Nabam Nigam captured video evidence of two middle-aged men from Bihar allegedly selling clothes with deceptive gift coupons attached.

The suspects, one identified as Santosh, were seen carrying two children's bicycles on a motorcycle registered in Bihar (BR 30 A G0605). They claimed to represent "Hindustan Marketing Company" while distributing scratch cards alongside their merchandise.

Scratch card frauds often prey on people's hopes for quick rewards. These scams exploit the natural desire for easy money.

To protect against such scams, law authorities have advised people to be wary of unsolicited scratch cards, particularly those asking for fees or personal details to claim prizes. The scratch cards do not have to be in the physical form either. Digital versions can also be used to create the illusion of a lottery win, only to later scam the user.
