Arunachal's Bugun community celebrate Pham Kho Sowai festival at Singchung

The joyous and most colourful Pham Kho Sowai festival of the Bugun community of Arunachal Pradesh kickstarted on September 10 at Singchung under West Kameng district.
 
Local MLA of Thrizono-Boragaon assembly constituency Kumsi Sidisow graced the event as the chief guest and distributed the prizes of cultural and sports competition. The festival featured various traditional cultural programs that were celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur.

Additionally, meritorious students from the Bugun Society were recognized and honored during the event.

Pham-Kho Sowai is a popular harvesting festival (Shifting Cultivation) of the Bugun people, now celebrated on a fixed date, on 10th September every year since 2013.

The MLA urged the youths to respect their tradition and culture as it's their own identity. "Our children should know how to speak local mother tongue and should not ever involve in drug addiction. I promote sports activities in my constituency as it will divert the minds of youths who sometimes get influenced by drugs or alcohol. "

The event saw the presence of notable individuals such as DC Akriti Sagar (IAS), SP Sudhansu Dhama (IAS), ZPM Rekha Murphew, ZPM Bichom Shanti Lali, Mokar Riba ADC Singchung, along with officers, members of the Bugun Society, the general public, and other distinguished guests.
