The National People's Party (NPP) of Arunachal Pradesh today celebrated the victory of its five elected MLAs at the party office in Itanagar. The NPP, which fielded 29 candidates across the state, secured five seats in the recent elections.

The victorious candidates include Namgey Tsering from Tawang, Pesi Jilen from Liromoba, Tapi Darang from Pasighat East, Oni Panyang from Mariyang, and Thangwang Wangham, the NPP President from Longding-Pumao Assembly constituency.

In addition to honoring the elected MLAs, NPP President Thangwang Wangham and General Secretary Pakgna Bage also acknowledged the efforts of candidates who mounted significant challenges against BJP contenders. Among them were Tani Loffa from Seppa West, Ajay Murtem from Raga, and Taring Mayu from Palin.

NPP president speaking to India Today said, "With the humble beginning of NPP we shouldn't be much happy nor be very sad. I am thankful to the people of Arunachal for who they elected NPP candidates especially. I expect in the next election we will do much better."

"We will stay in alliance with the NDA, we will work together for the better. I would wait for the high command of NPP and BJP's instructions for further things", added the president.

The NPP president further added, "Now our focus will remain more in the health sector. We want to reach the most remote places of Arunachal and give them health benefits. Not only political or social culture or even agriculture, horticulture but also brain culture should be given to the students of Arunachal."

Speaking exclusively to India Today, Pesi Jilen, the newly elected MLA from Liromoba, expressed his gratitude to his supporters. He highlighted the key factors behind his decisive victory over the incumbent MLA Nyamar Karbak. Karbak, who has served Liromoba since 2012, was a projected ministerial candidate from the Galo Belt, aiming to secure his seat once again.
