PM Modi: We are working towards bringing more industries to the Northeast

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 9 said that the central government is working towards bringing more industries to the Northeast so that opportunities are created for our youth.

Speaking about the government's commitment to the Northeast, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the pivotal role of the recently approved Unnati scheme in accelerating development. Just two days ago, the central government greenlit the Unnati scheme, signaling a resolute push towards uplifting the region. Within a remarkably short span, notifications and guidelines for the scheme were issued.

"We are committed to the development of the Northeast," said Prime Minister Modi, stating the strides made in fostering peace through peace accords with various organizations and the resolution of border disputes between northeastern states. Building upon this foundation, the government is now focused on establishing industries in the region, heralding a wave of employment opportunities.

Echoing the government's vision, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of nurturing startups, leveraging new technologies, and harnessing the potential of tourism, including homestays, to spur economic growth. Encouraging the youth of the Northeast to seize these opportunities, he assured them of the government's unwavering support.

"With the establishment of industries in the Northeast, we aim to provide employment opportunities to the youth," said Prime Minister Modi.
"The government stands ready to assist and support the establishment of new industries in the region."
