<p>You must have seen many temples famous for different reasons in different parts of India and Assam.<br>
One such famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the "Tilinga Mandir", is situated about sixteen kilometres from Tinsukia at Bordubi, in the vicinity of Oil India Ltd. Duliajan.</p>

<p>From Tinsukia, the green city and commercial hub of Upper Assam, one can reach the temple by road, enjoying the lush greenery of vast tea gardens on both sides.<br>
The roadside temple is also surrounded by a tea garden.It is believed that the wishes of the devotees who pay obeisance here are fulfilled by Lord Shiva.<br>
The temple derived its name from the &nbsp;Assamese word "Tilinga", which means "bell" and hence the name.</p>

When their wishes are fulfilled, devotees offer brass bells of various sizes and hang them in various parts of the temple premises with devotion and gratitude. There are shops on both sides of the road selling all the necessary things for the prayers and offerings.</p>

<p>People from different parts of the country visit this temple. People from the neighbouring states pour in during Shravan month, the month of Shiva, and offer water here.</p>
