Guwahati, January 14, 2014:

Assam’s Jatiya Nayak-turned-Khalnayak Chief Minister has come under fire of yet another student organization. This time, it is the Aassam Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP) who have called a ‘black day’ to protest the Chief Minister's visit to Majuli.

The student body is hoisting black flags all over Majuli district as the Chief Minister reaches to attend a government gathering in his own constituency, Majuli. The black flag hoisting is being done to protest the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.

Although the Sonowal-led BJP government has come under fire for its complicity in the implementation of the Bill, with allies AGP walking out due to disagreement over the Bill, the CM is yet to make his stand clear on the issue.

Even youth icon Zubeen Garg took to Twitter yesterday to express his displeasure at the Chief Minister and promised remuneration for singing his campaign song in return for the votes earned due to Zubeen’s involvement.
