AJYCP dharna demanding ILP in Assam

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 20, 2018:

Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) are staging dharna across many district headquarters in Assam today demanding introduction of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the State.

The AJYCP also submitted memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the respective Deputy Commissioners highlighting its demand.

The youth body also threatened to intensify stir in the future if both the Central and State governments failed to initiate necessary steps in this regard.

It reasoned that when neighbouring States like Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland can have ILP, there is no reason why Assam cannot have a similar arrangement.
