Alleged rhino poacher Ganesh Doley loses in Panchayat election

Guwahati, December 12,2018:

Controversial candidate of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Ganesh Doley, who had been accused of rhino-poaching has lost the elections as the counting continues for the two-phase Assam Panchayat polls.

Reportedly, Doley has been defeated by a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He contested for the post of President of Moridhansiri Gaon Panchayat. Doley was arrested in 2012 in connection with a rhino-poaching case in Bokakhat.
