Assam Agitation martyrs’ kin return mementos on Martyrs Day to protest CAB

Guwahati, January 30, 2019:

The family of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Assam Agitation has returned back honorary mementos conferred to their keens by the government. And surprising to the human interest, the government has accepted the returned awards.

The Swahid Parial Samannayrakhi Parishad came up with the decision to mark their protest against the amendment of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

It may be mentioned that the keens of the martyrs were awarded a sum of Rs 5 lakh and a memento on December 10, 2016, at Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Guwahati.
