Born in Assam capital, Rachna Nath has been awarded the Honorable mention award for Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators for the year 2019.
Rachna is one of the two winners to have received this award from within California, Neveda and Arizona.
Born to Akshay Majumdar and Rekha Majumdar of Dispur in Guwahati is the eldest of three siblings and has been an Environmental advocate since her childhood.

After moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 2003 as Rachna joined Arizona College Prep-Erie, a school of choice in Chandler. She continued working to enrich her student's critical thinking and Problem solving skills through the use of research based, place based and claim based evidence and reasoning methods.
Rachna Incorporates unique strategies to engage her students, creating innovative ways for students to share their knowledge with peers, such as writing poetry, songs and podcasts, participating in hands-on activities and field trips.
Rachna’s students are working with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to increase awareness about Volatile Organic Substances (VOC’s) and to develop a reusable, organic, VOC-free air freshener. The students also organize e-waste collection events and she is also developing a product to prevent swarming of Bees using household herbs and spices. She has a Patent-pending for the same.
Rachna is continuously seeking sponsors and funding for her student’s environmental sustainability projects. She has secured several grants including the Society for Science and the Public and Flinn Foundation grant to build a Biophysics pipeline to Arizona State University.
Apart from that, mother of two- Jyotishman Nath and Diya Nath, Rachna is a train Odissi dancer and performed at many popular stages of Arizona. She is also running Sangeeta Nritya Academy, a dance school to teach her dance form to the interested students in there. Rachna’s 11 year old son, Jyotishman Nath is a mastering in table and shared stage with the Santoor Mestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharjee at Acrosanti Outdoor Amphitheatre, Arizona on 2nd June 2018. While daughter Diya is training as an Indian classical singer.
