GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam has announced today that they will conduct 'Special Vaccination Days for Chronic Illness Patients' every weekend.
In this special vaccination drive all cancer, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, HIV, tuberculosis, and such chronic illnesses requiring long-term treatment or steroid therapy will be preferentially administered vaccination against COVID.

Special Vaccination Days for Chronic Illness Patients to be conducted on all Saturdays and Sundays, said the issued statement undersigned by Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary of Health Department, Assam.
The drive will be conducted at all CVCs where preference will be given for such patients.
Further, Medical College Hospitals and State Cancer Institute, Guwahati were instructed to undertake vaccination of all cancer patients reporting at the OPD.
Also, all the health institutions in the state including Central Government and Private Health Institutions are directed to give priority to the vaccination of such patients.
