GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today announced four new schemes for the benefit of the people of the state.

Online Registration in Employment Exchanges:

CM Sarma has launched an online registration portal for Assam job exchanges.

Talking to the media CM Sarma said that anyone with an Aadhaar card can now register for Employment Exchanges online. Meanwhile, non-Aadhaar job seekers can register in person at employment exchanges until March 31, 2022.

For the online registration for Employment Exchange, job seekers must go to the official website at employment.assam.gov.in.

The skill department has been directed to develop a suitable job opportunities portal within six months.

Similarly, before the Durga Puja, the transport department should launch online services for renewing driving licences and issuing duplicate driving licences.

E-ticketing system for Majuli-Jorhat Ferry Services:

AMTRON created the portal, which will be used for other major ferry routes in phases.

To book an E-Ticket for Majuli-Jorhat Ferry Services, one can register at https://t.co/CXK5QKm4B9 and enter the required personal details.

It is to be followed by entering the source and the destination, selecting the ferry, and making the payment.

The generated E-Ticket can be downloaded.

CM's COVID Relief Scheme for Drivers, Conductors, Handymen of Inter-Dist Buses:

To take advantage of the benefits for drivers, conductors, and handymen, a vehicle owner can register at https://t.co/HblkRJhdTt and upload required details such as address proof, ID, vehicle registration number, bank details, and so on.

Distribution of Toolkits to Bamboo Artisans:

To promote bamboo-based industries in Assam, a scheme for the distribution of toolkits to the state's bamboo artisans was launched.

In addition, to mark the beginning of this, advanced toolkits were distributed to a few bamboo artisans.

The kits will be distributed to 772 artisans.
