This initiative is introduced for teacher capacity building, according to officials. The move coincides with the introduction of Vedic maths in Assam's school education.

Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, following a government order, has instructed district commissioners and principal secretaries of autonomous councils to disseminate this information among teachers.

Teachers have begun arriving at a centre in Chandrapur for the training. Despite no clear stance from teachers' organisations, the Students' Federation of India (SFI) has opposed the initiative, citing it as a disruption to regular classes.
