ASSAM: TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT BANS VEHICLES OLDER THAN 15 YEARS IN GUWAHATI

In order to prevent the rising level of pollution in Guwahati, the Transport Department has decided to put a ban on vehicles older than 15 years. The following was stated in a press conference by the transport department today  It may also be notified that soon there will be a change in all the number plates of the vehicles in the city. All the vehicles will have to upgrade their number plates with High Security Number Plates .According to reports all the vehicles have to do the same within 31st May. A total of 9,95,265 vehicles will have to change their current registration plate with High Security Registration Plate. The plates will be installed on the vehicles to increase protection against theft.
