ASSAM: TWO APPREHENDED IN TWIN RAPE-MURDER CASE

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) launched a search operation to catch the miscreants behind the Simaluguri-Mariani rape and murder case. The team successfully apprehended two miscreants who were involved in the twin murder case.

One arrested from Tinsukia named Bikash Das alias Bejmohan Das and another one arrested near the Banipur Railway Station named Bipin Kumar Pandey by Dibrugarh Police. Both the miscreants have been handed over to Sivsagar Police Station.

While talking to InsideNE Additional SP of Sivsagar Police Station Balin Deuri said that

"After the first incident a Special Investigation Team was formed which was led by AGDP and while the meeting was going on we have been informed about the second incident. The knot of both the cases was same and we had confirmed that it is a serial killing case. The SIT group have set CCTV to monitor the stations and a suspected person has been caught in Tinsukia railway station and his bag was checked by the police. The person was 95 percent similar with the sketch. We demanded for 14 days of remand against Bikash Das alias Bejmohan Das."
