In a recent development, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party (based in Odisha) has extended their support to Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and 70 other indigenous organizations to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016.
Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi and General secretary of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP) Palash Changmai had urged Biju Janata Dal to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 at the Rajya Sabha.
KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi and AJYCP leader Palash Changmai held a meeting with BJD’s Chief Prasanna Acharya and Vice president Prasanna Kumar Patsani and several other national leaders in national capital New Delhi on Monday.
It may be noted that as many as four MPs will remain absent on medical grounds during the remaining days of the session of the Upper House.
Moreover, it has been reported that proceedings in the Rajya Sabha have been adjourned till 2 pm.
