'Brahmaputra Festival' underway in Assam's Dibrugarhbrahmaputra

DIBRUGARH: “Brahmaputra Mahotsav”, a two-day program to be held on 16th and 17th December, 2021 as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” -- has commenced in Dibrugarh district.

Today, the celebration is starting with a Eco-walk from Dibrugarh Municipal Board office to Puja Ghat near river Brahmaputra.

In addition, a cleaning drive and a drawing and essay competition will be held at the Puja Ghat on the banks of the Brahmaputra River for all, regardless of age.

In addition to this, the famous monument -- Raidongia Dol at Lejai-Kalakhowa -- will be illuminated at night.

Similarly, on the 17th, a bicycle rally has been organized from the premises of Deputy Commissioner's Office to the Sessa bridge via Khanikar at 7 am in the morning.

A Yoga program has also been orgainsed at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium at 8:30 am tomorrow.

State Minister for Water Resources, Piyush Hazarika, will inaugurate the Cultural Evening tomorrow. Dibrugarh MLA Prashant Phukan will also be present on the occasion.

All the guests invited to the event will be felicitated, award ceremonies will be held, and a cultural evening will be featuring some popular singers and performers.
