HAFLONG: An armed cadre of the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA), identified as Black Dimasa, was killed in an encounter with police at Purana Hajong village in Dima Hasao district of Assam yesterday.
Assam Police additional director general (law and order) GP Singh today tweeted the information stating that a DNLA cadre was injured in an “exchange of fire” with Dima Hasao police at Purana Hajong village in Dima Hasao on Saturday evening. Although he was rushed to a hospital, doctors pronounced him “dead”.
Singh said a pistol, ammunition and money were recovered from the militant’s possession.
