International Women’s Day celebrated in Guwahati Army Base Hospital

Guwahati, March 8, 2019 :

International women's day was celebrated on 8th Mar 2019 at 151 Base hospital, Basistha Guwahati. On this occasion, a series of health lectures and health camp was organized for the families of Narengi and Basistha Military Station along with 160 families.

The event was inaugurated by Brigadier Yoginder Singh, Commandant 151 Base hospital. Commandant highlighted the importance of gender equality and health of ladies. He also appreciated the contribution and support of ladies for the betterment of society and family. Thereafter a series of lectures were delivered on various health issues like anemia, thyroid disorder, Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension and common gynecological problems by eminent speakers from the hospital.

A health screening camp was also conducted which included a medical examination and blood tests to screen the ladies for diseases like anemia, thyroid disorder, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension. As these diseases are very common among women and affect the quality of life.
