GUWAHATI: Assam tea is manufactured specifically from the plant Camellia sinensis var. assamica and it is the world's largest tea-growing region by production.
Some of the state's most premium teas are now to go under the hammer as e-commerce company mjunctions services limited, has decided to hold the first-ever International Tea Day special auction in Jorhat tomorrow.
The company is to hold this auction in their e-marketplace in Jorhat on June 21 and the e-auction will include only the most premium teas as stipulated by the Tea Board of India.

The Jorhat outlet of mjunctions has received some of the best CTC/Green and Orthodox teas for the debut e-auction.
“We all look forward to celebrating Indian Tea. The last two years have been tough on the tea industry. All stakeholders, including small growers and small buyers, have been adversely affected due to the pandemic. This initiative will certainly do its bit in lifting the spirits of the industry,” mjunction Managing Director Vinaya Varma said.
These CTC/Green and Orthodox teas include Hookhmal, Muktabari, Aideobari, Rangliting, Narayanpur, Diroibam, Lankashi, Durgapur, Kathonibari, Arin, and Pabhojan.
