The party President sounded the poll bugle ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections to drum up support for party candidate Thangminlien Kipgen from Outer Manipur.
During the event, Sangma inducted former Lok Sabha MP, Kim Gangte, into the party. Gangte had resigned from the BJP on Thursday over denial of ticket to contest the election. Gangte was considered the BJP party’s ‘woman face’ in Manipur.
“Ms. Gangte joining our party will further strengthen our base in Manipur”, he said.
The NPP led by Sangma will be fielding candidates in all seven Northeastern states of India.
