The free books arranged by the government for the students of the government schools are being sold in a bookstall in Bilasipara.
Following this, there raised a situation of unrest in the 'Choudhuryr Sor ME Madrassa' at in Bilasipara. The locals there have alleged that the assistant teacher of the school, Gopal Uddin Ahmed, has been charging money for the free books provided to the Madrassa under government schemes.
The locals caught the teacher red-handed while he was trying to sell the books in the nearby bookstall. However, the teacher managed to escape from the place of the incident.
Meanwhile, the locals recovered the books and lodged an FIR at the Bilasipara Police Station.
There have been allegations that the Officer of the Education Department of Bilasipara, Manoj Phukan is also involved in this.
The people of the region have demanded the government to take stern action against such corrupt practices going on in the education department in the state.
