The North Cachar NC Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) election witnessed tensed situation after locals had alleged that rigging of votes in the strong room set at the Don Bosco School in Haflong had taken place.

The locals alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters have shut down the connections of the CCTV so that they can tamper with the votes.
Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Amitabh Rajkhowa who has been appointed as the returning officer of the NC Hills, NCHAC election said that they got information that the display of the CCTV cameras which were installed at the ground floor for the election agents were turned off. After reaching the spot, technicians found that the switch of the monitor was turned off and it is assumed that this was done intentionally.
