Tinsukia, April 11, 2019:

After a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered in Assam’s Tinsukia district, the police have reached the site and informed that all the necessary measures have been taken to secure the region. Investigations are currently underway to get to the bottom of the situation.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Asif Ahmed said, “We got a call from VDP regarding an unidentified object lying exposed in the oil pipeline. So, we immediately rushed to the site. We are currently investigating the matter. The Superintendent of Police has informed all the bomb squads and other agencies. This is a remote area so it’s possible that some miscreants may try to grab attention.”

It is to be mentioned that an IED was recovered from the top of oil pipelines at Lankashi Methola tea estate in Tinsukia district of Assam.
