In a significant crackdown on drug smuggling, police have arrested two women found in possession of 15 kilograms of ganja at AOC Point in Karimganj, Assam.
The suspects, Gauri Kumari and Nisha Gupta, were apprehended by locals who noticed their suspicious behavior and promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon arrival, police searched the women's bags and discovered six packets containing a total of 15 kilograms of cannabis. Gauri Kumari hails from Bihar, while Nisha Gupta is from Allahabad. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the duo transported the contraband from Agartala in Tripura.
The arrest marks a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region, with authorities continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the smuggling operation.
