Assam: 2 cyber criminals nabbed from Hojai, siphoned off Rs 3.5 lakh from victim's bank account

Acting tough against rising cyber crimes in the state, Assam Police in Bajali nabbed two cyber criminals from Hojai who siphoned off lakhs of rupees from various bank accounts. 

As per sources, the arrested duo siphoned off Rs 3.5 lakh from the bank of one Kanak Chandra Das of Chauliabari in Bajali. Surprisingly the mobile SIM card of the man in Bajali was ported in Hojai and changed to Jio from Airtel network and then the money was transferred through UPI apps. 

The arrested duo identified as Billal Ahmed and Abdul Hai Mazar entered the bank account of Bhuyan and took out the money from the bank account. 

Several cyber criminals have been using tactics to withdraw money fraudulently from bank accounts of several people.

However, Assam Police has been conducting raids across the state over the increasing rise in number of cyber crimes.
