Assam: 41st Bohagi Utsav blossoms with color and culture in Margherita

The 41st Bohagi Utsav kicked off amidst much fervor and enthusiasm in Margherita in Assam. Organized under the auspices of the Margherita Businessman Association, the three-day extravaganza commenced at the Margherita town high school ground, drawing participants and spectators from far and wide.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Bhaskar Sharma, president of the celebration committee and MLA from the 83rd Margherita LAC, who hoisted the bihu flag, marking the official commencement of the festivities. Paying homage to the martyrs, a solemn Swahid Tarpan ceremony ensued, followed by a vibrant multicultural gathering, featuring the participation of over 80 cultural ethnic groups.

Adding a touch of glamour and excitement to the proceedings, the Cultural Festival was inaugurated by the esteemed presence of renowned Assam actress, Digangana Bora. Bihu, the essence of Assamese culture, served as a unifying force, bringing together diverse ethnic communities in a celebration of unity amidst diversity.

As the sun set, the festivities continued with the Borbihuvati Bihuwoti, Dehing's best Bihu hunsori, and Hunsori competitions, showcasing the rhythmic beats and traditional melodies of Assam. The following days promised even more entertainment, with events such as Mou-bihuvati, Jeng Bihu competitions, and a captivating concert by Assamese sensation, Nilotpal Bora.

Culminating in a crescendo of cultural brilliance, the final day's highlights included a spellbinding performance by the Mejankari Meghmalla group, followed by a star-studded concert featuring noted Bollywood singer, Deepakshi Kalita, and Indian Idol fame, Amit Paul.
