Assam: 6 poachers from Mizoram held with arms in Hailakandi

Six poachers from Mizoram were arrested and illegal arms were seized in Hailakandi district, Assam, according to reports on Monday. The Hailakandi Forest Department officials apprehended the individuals from Paglajhora.

Reports suggest that they were involved in monkey smuggling. Three guns, a vehicle, and six dead monkeys were reportedly recovered from the arrested individuals.

Sources reveal that the poachers are from Kolasib, Mizoram and have been transferred to jail.
