Assam: 7 critically injured in major fire near Tinsukia Law College, investigation underway

A tragic fire near Tinsukia Law College during a wedding ceremony has left seven individuals critically injured.

The victims, including Rekha Devi, Manju Devi, Kartik Prasad, Reena Prasad, Rishi Prasad, Shubha Shah, and Poonam Devi, were initially treated at Tinsukia Civil Hospital before being transferred to Dibrugarh Medical College for specialized care.  

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, with authorities still investigating the incident. The fire erupted during the wedding of local resident Sachin Saha.  

Tinsukia’s Deputy Commissioner visited the site and described the incident as doubtful. An inquiry into the incident has been entrusted to the district magistrate, who is leading the investigation.
