Assam: Adivasi community observes 'Black Day' in Baksa district

The Adivasi community in Assam's Baksa district today observed 'Black Day' in remembrance of the ethnic violence that engulfed parts of the state in 2014. 

Members of the Adivasi community of Bahbari lit candles and remembered the victims of the violence that broke out this day in 2014 that led Adivasis being targeted in the districts of Sonitpur, Chirang and Kokrajhar. 

Candles were lit and prayers were held for the victims of the violence. Local Adivasi groups also attended the prayer meet today.

Noteworthy is on December 23, 2014, a series of attacks by militants resulted in the deaths of more than 76 people in India.
