All India United Democratic Front chief Badruddin Ajmal became emotional after he visited the erosion hit areas at Moinabari in Assam's Barpeta district. Ajmal got visibly emotional while reading out the prayer during a public meeting during his visit to the erosion hit areas in Moinabari which fall under the revenue circles of Baghbar and Kalgachia. He also announced that he would be meeting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma soon in this regard.
Earlier, Ajmal had visited the erosion hit sites and had met with the locals to take stock of the situation. Accompanying the AIUDF chief during his visit were Jonia MLA Rafikul Islam and Chenga MLA Ashraful Hussain.
During the prayer meet, Ajmal got visibly emotional while loudly praying to the almighty to help the erosion affected people out of their woes.
Later while speaking to the media, Ajmal announced that they would soon be meeting with the Assam Chief Minister to seek an immediate solution for the erosion affected people in various places.
"What I have seen here is quite worrisome. The situation here is quite bad. Our two MLAs Rafikul sahab and Ashraful Mamun have come here with us. We are going to meet the Chief Minister as soon as possible. The media will get the news very soon. We will discuss the possibilities of an immediate solution to the problem with the Chief Minister. We shall also go to New Delhi and hold talks with the concerned ministry. Not just here, but the situation is bad in Jonia as well. Meanwhile Fakirganj in Salmara has been completely destroyed by erosion. We will go and talk for all these places and try to find an immediate solution," said Ajmal.
