In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the online trading scam, Badarpur Police have arrested another prime accused, Rajdeep Deb, from Tripura.
Deb, a resident of BSF Camp Road in Sribhumi, was apprehended from a house in Dharmanagar with the assistance of Churaibari Police.
According to police sources, Rajdeep Deb had been absconding since the arrest of another key accused, Shakir, from Kolkata’s Bakhrashal area.
After weeks of evading law enforcement, he was finally tracked down and taken into custody following a tip-off received by Sribhumi Police.
Officials stated that Deb had been leading a lavish lifestyle using funds allegedly collected through fraudulent online trading schemes. He had reportedly taken large sums of money from multiple individuals, promising high returns, before disappearing.

"Since Shakir’s arrest, Deb had been on the run, frequently changing locations to evade capture. However, our joint operation with Churaibari Police led to his successful apprehension in Dharmanagar," said an official from Badarpur Police Station.
Rajdeep Deb has been brought to the Badarpur Police Station for further interrogation. Authorities believe that his arrest could provide crucial leads into the broader network behind the scam.
Victims of the fraudulent scheme are hopeful that more arrests will follow and that legal action will be taken against those responsible for duping investors.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement agencies are working to recover the scammed funds and bring all involved perpetrators to justice.
