Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia issues tough talk on party conduct, hits out at Congress

Assam State BJP President and Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia delivered a sharp message to party leaders and workers, urging unwavering adherence to party discipline.

Speaking at a cultural programme near the India-Bhutan border in Tamulpur district, Saikia stressed that party rules apply equally to all — “whether it is the Prime Minister or the Chief Minister.”

The BJP leader used the occasion to launch a scathing attack on Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah, branding him as the “leader of a syndicate” and accusing the Congress of continuing to promote syndicate politics in the state.

“Congress needs to learn from us. Bhupen Borah has failed to emerge as a credible leader in the eyes of the people. The party is no longer relevant in Assam’s political landscape. During elections, they resort to spreading confusion rather than presenting vision,” Saikia asserted.

The remarks were made during an interaction with the media at the cultural programme titled "Bogajuliyao Boishaguni Dandiche", held at the Bogajuli-Ganeshguri playground as part of the Rongjali Bihu celebrations. The event attracted significant local participation and marked a vibrant celebration of Assamese culture along the international border.
