Two regional political parties of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) are likely to unite for the upcoming BTC election next year.
Discussions between the BPF and UPPL are ongoing.
BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary mentioned this on Wednesday during a massive joining program of the BPF held at Kashiabari under the Gossaigaon Subdivision in Kokrajhar.
"Discussions are going on between three leaders from BPF and six others from UPPL for a possible alliance," said BPF chief Hagrama.
The BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) elections are highly likely to be held in the months of March and April next year.

As the elections approach, various political parties in the BTC are intensifying their election-related activities.
In this context, it has been observed that the BPF (Bodoland People's Front), led by former Chief Executive Member of the BTC, Hagrama Mohilary, is seemingly gaining popularity, surpassing the alliance of the UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).
In the presence of BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary, BJP leader William Narzary, who was the BJP candidate from the Saraibil constituency in the last BTC elections, joined the BPF today along with a large number of his supporters.
Additionally, a total of 3,699 individuals from the UPPL, BJP, and GSP (Gana Suraksha Party) officially joined the BPF today.
