Assam brothers feed egrets with meat for past 7 years near Sivasagar University

For the past seven years, two brothers have nurtured a unique bond with egrets by providing them with meat every day near the Sivasagar University. It has become a routine for both of them to provide the birds with such an act of service on the banks of the historic Joysagar.

They consider it to be a virtuous act to feed the birds, who always come in search of food. The shop which goes by the name “Huni Bhai Chicken Centre” is situated in the main courtyard near Sivasagar University on the banks of the famous Jaisagar pond in historic Asia.

In the beginning, only two-three birds used to come to the shop in search of food. The brothers used to feed them a whole broiler leg but gradually when the number of birds increased they had to decrease the size of the leg pieces.

At present there are about 30 birds that come to consume the meat, however, during the dry season, the number of birds increases to 80. These birds generally gather to consume meat more in the evening time.

Many people throng this shop in the afternoon to witness the scenes of the two brothers feeding meat to the birds after the videos went viral on social media. The exceptional act of these two brothers, though late, caught the attention of the public.  Due to which their work has gone viral on social media for almost a week now.

Like a pet bird, the visuals of these two brothers feeding the egrets have touched the heart of every person on social media.
