The Border Security Force has alleged that the reports claiming incidents of 40 rounds of bullets fired along Indo-Bangladesh border false and just rumours.
BSF commandant at Ballia border in Karimganj while speaking to the media said, "Reports of firing along the Indo-Bangladesh border is extremely wrong. We share a very cordial relationship with Bangladesh. Even internationally our relations with BSF is very good. The gravity and sensitivity of the border area is well known by both countries. So there is no issues of discussion regarding of any firing incident. Recently, there have been no such issue that might have led to firing.
BSF commandant Pawan Sharma said the news of the news being broadcast in a section of the media was fake.
Notably, a section of people reported that 40 rounds of bullets were fired at illegal cattle smugglers at the Ballia border under Auction bazar police station in South Karimganj constituency. But the BSF official said it was completely false and baseless.
