Assam: Bus collides head-on with two-wheeler in Jorhat, one dead

A passenger bus collided head-on with a two-wheeler in Assam's Jorhat on November 10 morning leaving one dead and several others injured.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at Jorhat's Nirmal Chariali, Jorhat, involving an Amarnath bus and a scooter left one woman dead, was traveling from Bhogdoi Bridge towards Jorhat, when it collided head-on with a scooter en route from Jorhat to Sivasagar. 

The scooter was carrying three women and a young child at the time of the incident.

Tragically, one of the women, identified as Junu Begum from Golaghat, sustained critical injuries and succumbed while being transported to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). Junu had been living in a rented accommodation on Kabarsthan Road in Jorhat.

The young child of Junu Begum suffered severe head trauma, while the other two women involved in the accident are reported to be in critical condition. Emergency medical services promptly admitted all the injured individuals to JMCH, where they are receiving urgent care.
